In order to perform a data fit, first load the SBML model and import the data as described in Workbench - Data Browser.
Next, go to the Settings tab, choose the algorithm, set the time interval and its unit. Adjust the tolerance parameters as needed, including the parameter constraints, the jacobian computation, the problem type and the scaling.
After the general settings, insert a threshold value in the threshold column of the Species and Parameter tab. Usually, setting it to 1e-10 works well. Note, that leaving the threshold unset will cause an error resulting in program shotdown in its worst case.
Select the parameter set for the initial guess in the Parameter Set tab. If no parameter set is selected the currently active one is chosen.
Finally, select the parameters to be estimated in the Fit tab. Now, either click on the Identify Parameter button or select
Action > Estimate Parameter in the menu bar (shortcut: Ctrl + Alt + F).
